Well ladies and gentlemen, the time has come for me to say goodbye. Yesterday I had a little going away party and it really hit me that I am leaving! Saying goodbye to all of my loved ones was hard to say the least. This is a bittersweet feeling that I have at this moment. I am really excited to start my new life in Nicaragua, meet new people and have new experiences. But on the other hand, I am very sad to be leaving the life that I have now and all of my family and friends. The fact that I have such supportive and caring family and friends is part of the reason I have the courage to the Peace Corps. I know that this is the right decision for me and once I get settled into my new life, I can begin to relax and have fun! I will try and update my blog as often as I can with stories and pictures. I know I will have my highs and my lows, but I know overall this will be a great experience. I will be checking in with everyone soon!

Suitcase Blues
So the days that I have left in the USA are numbered. I will be heading off to Nicaragua in a little over two weeks. Trying to fit all my belongings into two suitcases is proving to be a big challenge! I am obviously going to have to down size a bit. Maybe this is the first test the Peace Corps gives you. Fit all your crap into two small rectangular cases. I hope to have this all figured out by August 31st. Wish me luck!
